Managing with existing structures is one of the most frequent tasks for today’s structural engineers. One of the most effective way for improving the flexural strength of RC members consists inbonding FRP laminates at their soffit in order to upgrade the existing steel bars. For this reason, strengthening RC beams by Externally Bonded FRP laminates is getting more and more common and the following CodeProvisions have been issued in various countries. One of the most important problems to be faced when managing FRP strengthened beams deals with the possible premature failure due to debonding between theadhesive layer and concrete. Various code provisions will be examined and compared in the present paper for obtaining some indications about the different safety levels achievable after complying them.
